The 2006 Superfast line continued Matchbox's revival of its most famous name, the low-friction wheels launched in late 1969 as the answer to Hot Wheels. Like the 2004 and 2005 runs, these were limited-edition releases sold in collector blister packs, mixing classic American muscle, European sports cars and everyday heroes. For many collectors, the mid-2000s Superfast era is where modern premium Matchbox began.
